Satan's temptation of humanity did not happen only in the Garden of Eden; today it still tempts, terrorizes, and destroys people in ways beyond human imagination. Measured against the standards of the divine, the devil has already occupied our world—this process is the very process by which humanity, tempted and coerced, has continuously turned away from God. This devil is the specter of communism.
Communism is not merely a school of thought, a doctrine, or a failed attempt by humanity to find a way forward. It is the devil, also called the communist evil spirit, composed of hatred and all manner of degenerate matter from the lower dimensions of the cosmos. In its original form it was a serpent; in its manifestation in this surface dimension, it takes the form of a red dragon. It keeps company with Satan, who hates the true God, while at the same time using all sorts of low-level spirits and demons to throw the human world into chaos. This evil spirit's ultimate goal is to destroy humanity—at the final moment when God returns to save all beings, it seeks to make people disbelieve in God, to corrupt human morality to the point that people abandon God and tradition, and to make people unable to understand God's teachings, thereby causing them to be eliminated in the end.
The communist evil spirit is cunning and endlessly changeable in its schemes. Sometimes it terrifies those unwilling to follow it with mountains of corpses and seas of blood; sometimes it deceives people into following it with slogans of “science” and “progress” and by painting beautiful blueprints of the future; sometimes it uses pretentiously profound scholarship to make people believe it represents the future direction of human development; sometimes it infiltrates education, media, art, law, and many other fields under slogans such as “democracy,” “equality,” and “social justice,” subtly drawing people under its banner; sometimes it hides behind confusing labels such as “socialism,” “progressivism,” “liberalism,” “neo-Marxism,” and various left-wing parties; sometimes it flies seemingly righteous banners such as “peace and anti-war,” “environmentalism,” “globalization,” and “political correctness”; sometimes it supports “avant-garde art,” “sexual liberation,” drug legalization, homosexuality, and other forms of indulging human desire, misleading people into thinking these are merely social fashions—violence and radicalism are not its only forms of expression; sometimes it even disguises itself with a face of concern for the public good. But its fundamental characteristic is that it will use any means necessary to destroy everything traditional, including faith, religion, morality, culture, family, art, education, and law, dragging people down into an abyss of moral collapse from which there is no return.
This evil spirit and its many variants have not disappeared along with the collapse of the communist parties of Eastern Europe—on the contrary, they are now flourishing across the entire world. It is not only countries such as China and Cuba that still openly declare themselves communist regimes; even the United States, regarded as the leader of the free world, has nearly fallen completely under the onslaught of the communist evil spirit, to say nothing of a Europe that has long since become socialist, or an Africa and Latin America already blanketed by communist influence. This is the shocking reality facing humanity—the communist evil spirit's plot to destroy mankind has very nearly succeeded.
Humanity's instinct to seek benefit and avoid harm makes people want to escape suffering, or to rise above others, or to build some great and glorious career, or simply to enjoy life, and so on. There is nothing inherently wrong with such desires, but once people drift far from God, these very desires become handles the communist evil spirit can grasp, encouraging and magnifying them so as to bring people under its control. And the evil spirit's arrogance in opposing God and defying heaven has in turn bred arrogance in those it manipulates—an ambition to play God through power, money, and knowledge, to dominate the fate of others and the course of history, an ambition that has, in turn, become a social trend.
Man was created by God, and both good and evil exist within human nature. If a person rejects evil and upholds good, he can return to God; if he does the opposite, he falls toward the devil—this choice rests entirely with the individual.
We have found that many kind-hearted people who still retain their original nature have, without realizing it, become agents of the communist evil spirit, or have become what Lenin called “useful idiots,” manipulated by it. Although society as a whole has, under the temptation of the communist evil spirit, degenerated to the very brink of destruction, those who are truly willing to pawn their souls to the devil and deliberately corrupt humanity are, after all, extremely few. For the great majority of people, the goodness still present in human nature offers a chance to break free from the evil spirit—and this is precisely the purpose of writing this book: to explain this complex and difficult subject in language and reasoning as plain as possible, so that people can see clearly through the evil spirit's many tricks, and, more importantly, to present the morality, culture, and art that God has established for mankind, so that people may choose between God and the evil spirit.
The moment a person's good thoughts arise, God will help that person break free of the devil's control, but the process of recognizing the devil clearly requires the reader's own careful reflection and discernment. We will re-examine, from an entirely new height and a broad perspective, the historical trends and transformations of the past several hundred years, analyzing how the devil, wearing various masks and using various means, has occupied and manipulated our world. Our purpose is not merely to record history—we are far more concerned with how to stop the devil from ruling our world. That depends on people's own awakening, on their taking the initiative to cast off evil, and on their returning to the traditional path and way of life that God laid down for mankind.
God will surely defeat the devil, and which side we choose to stand on will determine the eternal destination of our lives.
